Description
Map sheet number 97 in the OS Landranger map series is the ideal map for planning and executing your walks around the Kendal and Morecambe area of the Lake District. Each map covers an area of 40 km by 40 km (25 miles by 25 miles) and like other Ordnance Survey maps, National Grid squares are provided so that any feature can be given a unique reference number.
Located in to the south of the famous Lakes, the area is famous for Kendal mint cake, river walks and gorgeous countryside.
Paper or Weatherproof (Active)?
In addition to the standard paper maps, you can also purchase weatherproof versions also known as 'Active' maps. They offer the same detail as the cheaper paper version but are encapsulated meaning that they are durable in wet weather.
You can also mark your route on the map and wipe it clean afterwards with water-based markers. If you plan on revisiting the area then we would strongly suggest the Active version of the map as the preferred choice.
This Map Covers
Lancaster, Morecambe Bay, Castle Howe and Windermere.
