Each map covers an area of 40 km by 40 km (25 miles by 25 miles) and like other Ordnance Survey maps, National Grid squares are provided so that any feature can be given a unique reference number.
West Cumbria is known for its attractive scenery and the Lake District National Park's Wast Water Lake which extends for 3 miles along the Wasdale Valley.
Paper or Weatherproof (Active)?
In addition to the standard paper maps, you can also purchase weatherproof versions also known as 'Active' maps. They offer the same detail as the cheaper paper version but are encapsulated meaning that they are durable in wet weather.
You can also mark your route on the map and wipe it clean afterwards with water-based markers. If you plan on revisiting the area then we would strongly suggest the Active version of the map as the preferred choice.
This Map Covers
Cockermouth, Workington, Maryport, Dovenby, Uldale, Ennerdale Bridge, Egermont, Gosforth, Keswick, Scafell Pike, Cold Pike and Skiddaw.
