Map sheet number 124 in the OS Landranger map series, Porthmadog & Dolgellau, is the ideal map for planning and executing your walking trips and holidays in the Porthmadog & Dolgellau area.
Porthmadog is frequently named the gateway to Snowdonia National Park and with stunning beaches and the majestic Snowdonian mountains as a backdrop, it is a fantastic holiday destination. To the south lies the charming town of Dolegllau at the foot of the Cader Idris mountain range. Both towns are a great base for exploring Snowdonia and for watching the rich array of wildlife.
Paper or Weatherproof (Active)?
In addition to the standard paper maps, you can also purchase weatherproof versions also known as 'Active' maps. They offer the same detail as the cheaper paper version but are encapsulated meaning that they are durable in wet weather.
You can also mark your route on the map and wipe it clean afterwards with water-based markers. If you plan on revisiting the area then we would strongly suggest the Active version of the map as the preferred choice.
